Our approach to Catholic education is a very simple one;
We expect more.
Our rigorous curriculum is rooted in Faith and our belief that each child is a unique creation of God. This results in a learning environment that expects the best and brings forth the best in each student. At the heart of ICS is a highly qualified, experienced faculty who hold students to very high standards. They use a wide variety of instructional strategies and methodologies to help students reach those standards. Working with both students and faculty is a talented and caring staff and parish clergy.
We are blessed with wonderful students and supportive families. All of these working together create an extraordinary sense of community that is often remarked upon by visitors to our campus.
ICS campus is comprised of three classroom buildings for students from Preschool to Grade 8. The Convent School is an early childhood center for Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten. The Lower School includes Grades 1 – 4, and the Middle School has grades 5 – 8 and is run as a true middle school model.
We are fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Independent Schools. In addition to the classrooms, our campus centers around our Parish Church where we gather for Mass and assemblies. The Parish Rectory is in the center of our campus.
In 1910 there were over eight thousand members of the Immaculate Conception Parish. A Catholic education for the children was a prime concern. Reverend Thomas B. Lowney, who was pastor, announced on January 23, that a school would be constructed at the corner of Washington Court and Washington Street. The school would be built in with four classrooms on the first and second floors. “Looking toward the east, the windows would be so situated that pupils would receive the light over their left shoulder.” The school was ready for use on September 1, 1911.
Our location is convenient toall area residents beyond Marlborough, we have many students from Hudson, Berlin, Southborough, Westborough, and Northborough. Our school hours are 7:45 AM to 1:45 PM. Bus transportation is available at no charge to Marlborough residents.
The involvement of parents/guardians is actively encouraged at the Immaculate Conception School, and is an important aspect of the academic and spiritual development of each child.
Immaculate Conception School welcomes and admits all students regardless of race, creed, color, gender, or national origins.
